GMA-7 Bags 3 Anvil Awards
GMA-7 brought home three distinctions from Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP) at the 47th Anvil Awards held last February 24 at the EDSA Shangri-la Hotel for its high caliber public relations tools and campaigns.
The GMA PR programs that earned merit awards from the Anvil include the EDSA 25th Anniversary (PR tools multimedia and infomercials category), and the commemorative campaign on Dr. Jose Rizal's 150th birthday, "Hero Ko Si Rizal", and the specialized Christmas project "Saludo Sa Puso ng Pinoy" (PR programs category).
The Network's "EDSA 25th Anniversary Campaign" was awarded for its authentic retelling of the People Power Revolution. It featured ordinary citizens sharing their experiences during EDSA 1 and how the historic event shaped them over the last 25 years.
"Hero Ko Si Rizal," meanwhile, presented different vignettes of modern day Filipinos narrating why Rizal holds a special place in their hearts. It was conceptualized to spark a renewed appreciation for the contributions of the Philippine national hero among Filipinos from different generations.
Finally, "Saludo sa Puso ng Pinoy" was recognized for its simple and genuine portrayal of the Christmas spirit. The campaign was able to capture the true essence of Christmas by presenting extraordinary acts of kindness by ordinary people.
Known as the Oscars of the PR profession, the prestigious Anvil Awards recognizes excellent practices and programs in the field of local public relations.
